What Is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty, also known as Labia reduction, Labia rejuvenation, Labia contouring or Vaginal lip reduction, is a variety of surgical procedures aimed to improve or restore the cosmetic vaginal appearance. The two most common areas are Labia minora (small lips) and Labia majora (large lips).

Labia minora Labiaplasty is a surgical procedures that will reduce the size or change the shape of the small lips at the vaginal opening. Labia majora Labiaplasty is a surgical procedures that will reshape and tighten large lips.

Why Labiaplasty?

It is not uncommon for women to have large, thick or asymmetrical labia. Some develop it during puberty, pregnancy, after delivery or with aging. Even though it may be variation of normal, women may consider surgical correction due to mainly two major reasons: medical or cosmetic.

Enlarged labia can cause irritation and discomfort during sexual intercourse, exercises and other activities. Wearing tight clothing maybe a problem.

The appearance of the enlarged labia can cause embarrassment with a sexual partner or loss of self esteem. With the increasing openness of society to sexuality and greater exposure to sexually explicit materials (magazines, movies), some women just want to look as beautiful as they can for themselves and their partner.

How Can Labiaplasty Help?

Labiaplasty provides both physical and psychological satisfaction by improving the appearance of the vagina and vulva, reduces discomfort caused by clothing, reduces discomfort during intercourse and exercise, significantly increasing self confidence and boosting self-esteem.
