What is the treatment of female infertility?
After a complete evaluation, Dr. Rainee Agrawal will recommend any one of the following infertility treatment for female in India:
1. Laparoscopy:
We will reconstruct your reproductive organs if there is a tubal or pelvic disease. With the help of a laparoscope, we will get rid of scar tissue, treat endometriosis, open blocked tubes, or remove ovarian cysts.
2. Hysteroscopy:
During this procedure, we use hysteroscopy to remove fibroids and polyps, divide scar tissue, and open up blocked tubes.
3. Intrauterine insemination (IUI):
For this procedure, we place the washed semen into the uterus when you are ovulating. Sometimes, you will have to take medications that trigger the release of the egg.
4. In vitro fertilization (IVF) :
In IVF, your eggs are fertilized outside your body and then placed inside your uterus.
You will have to take medications that will trigger the development of more eggs. When the eggs are mature, we will collect them with a needle.
Your partner will give a sample of sperm, which will be added to the eggs in the dish. After the fertilization of the eggs, the resulting embryos will be transferred into your uterus. Extra embryos can be frozen and saved for later use.
IVF is one of the most preferred female infertility treatment in India.
5. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) :
ICSI is an advanced IVF method where we inject a sperm directly into the egg and then place the fertilized egg (embryo) into your uterus.
6. Gamete intrafallopian tube transfer (GIFT) and zygote intrafallopian transfer (ZIFT):
Even these procedures involve retrieving an egg, combining it with sperm, and then transferring it back to your body.
In GIFT, the eggs are placed along with the sperm into a catheter and are then injected into the fallopian tubes with laparoscopy.
Whereas, in ZIFT, we place the fertilized eggs into your fallopian tubes within 24 hours.
7. Egg donation:
You can use a donor’s egg to conceive if you have issues with your ovaries.
